Dr. Clue is the brainchild of Dave Blum (that handsome guy in the picture).

Dave holds a B.A. in English from Pomona College in Claremont, California and is a certified professional coach from IPEC (the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching). A continuing member of the North American Simulation & Gaming Association (http://www.nasaga.org/), Dave is also Past President of Santa Rosa Toastmasters Club 182, as well as a club coach and former Area Director. After a three-year stint teaching English in Japan for the Mombusho English Fellows program, Dave worked in tourism and the non-profit sector before discovering his true destiny as a treasure hunt master.

“I’ve been a puzzle and game nerd my whole life. Every day after school, I’d get together with my friend Mike and work our way through the game closet: Risk, Stratego, Monopoly, Sorry, The Game of Life … you name it, we played it. I also loved creating mazes (with pencil and paper) and writing crossword puzzles. In short, I’ve always been crazy about puzzles and games. But what really fascinated from the beginning was mysteries, adventure tales and, especially, treasure/scavenger hunts! For example, I read Sherlock Holmes. I read the Odyssey and Greek mythology. I devoted long, binge-worthy hours watching movies like Romancing the Stone, the Goonies, Rat Race, Harry Potter, the Da Vinci Code, and National Treasure. What could be better than solving a clue, following a trail of bread crumbs and reaching a fantastic mystery location?!!

Since 1995, I’ve been creating treasure hunts for groups of all shapes and sizes: from companies, to social groups, to families. My hunt-creation adventures have sent me all across the country, from New Orleans to Philadelphia, from Chicago to New York City…and everywhere in between. I’ve even had the pleasure of creating hunts internationally, in far-flung locations, such as Dubai, London, Paris, San Juan Puerto Rico, Madrid, Tel Aviv and Geneva. I love transforming cool new locations into “living board games”, for the delight (and education) of my customers!
